Your Body Knows

Hey, everyone! How are you doing? I hope you are doing well. I am doing okay.

The topic I wanted to discuss today is why your body does not lie. I’ve been reading a lot of content about awareness. Many people have different ideas of what it means to connect with your higher self, your intuition, and try to explain it to the best of their ability. However, as I was reading these texts it was difficult to understand what they were trying to say so I had to reread it, but I understood the main point and that is awareness.

We all experience our intuition in different ways. The most common ways are through the mind, heart, and the gut. This is just my theory or my perspective on what it means to just listen.

Humans are flawed when we are not connected or understand what language works best for us when it comes to communicating with our higher selves or God or whatever you connect with. No one connects with their intuition the same way as the next. For some people they experience a gut reaction, other people they have a tingling feeling on their skin, hairs rising on their arms, their heart sinking into their chest, or a clear inner voice in their mind. It really depends. I’m not here to tell you which one of these is right only you will know.

I know that can be frustrating to hear because when I first started developing and learning more about my intuition I had a hard time identifying what works best for me. I came across many books explaining consciousness and awareness and presence. All of them, however, pointed out that many people experience an inner knowing in various ways.

It dawned on me that these inner knowings come from how in tune they were with their bodies. To understand your body you have to practice awareness through presence. Examples of this would be yoga which helps develop awareness of the mind and body or meditation. For some people it’s working out or just sitting still. It really varies.

One thing that I came across in all the readings I’ve done is that your body knows. Your body knows how to interpret the answers that are already within the field and it’s just understanding how your body tries to tell you that.

For example, how many of you were listening to a friend of yours gush about a crush that they had? They went on and on but you had a gut feeling or an inner knowing of no this person isn’t right but they were so blinded that they just couldn’t see it? That’s clairsentience. I have it whenever I’m around people. I sit very still and don’t even think I just feel what my body feels and if I feel like don’t trust this person I won’t. If I feel this person doesn’t like me I don’t take it personally. If I feel neutral I assume they’re okay. The more I practiced this awareness and really listening to my body I understood how it tries to communicate with me.

Another example is when I first meet someone or I walk into the room and the hair on my arms stand up. Sometimes I’ll even feel my gut churn or my stomach drop and I’ll immediately know that this person is not a good person and to stay away from them or the situation in the room is not okay. I’ll immediately remove myself from the situation.

We all have this inner knowing. Something that helped me figure out the way my body tries to communicate with me by putting myself in different situations not dangerous ones but think back to moments in your life when you made the right or wrong decision at the moment. How did your body react? What happened in that scenario? What signs did you ignore? And that’s a hunch! That helps you identify how your body tries to talk to you.

Your body is an amazing creation. We all have an inner knowing within us. It’s just a matter of listening. Your body knows when you shouldn’t be in a relationship. Your body knows when a relationship should end as well. Your body knows when you should leave a job or a career. Your body knows. Your body knows and remembers things or pain that you may not consciously be aware of and it manifests in different illnesses or pains.

I invite you to tune into your body. Listen to it. Take some time today to be present and become aware of what your body needs. An ache in your back. The way your shoulders are hunched over. Maybe you’re getting frequent headaches. You cry for no reason. Whatever it is I invite you to be gentle with yourself and ask what the pain is trying to tell you. I promise you you will find an answer.
